The title to this article pretty much says it all.
Watching for Foxes has a drive seldom seen in startup bands. The savvy business and networking sense of frontman Joey Frendo has garnered them several high profile opening slots, performing alongside bands spanning multiple genres. These groups include Knox Hamilton, Saintseneca, Roadkill Ghost Choir, Empire! Empire! I Was a Lonely Estate, and more. Emo, rock, folk. That’s a pretty wide paradigm. But this passionate folk rock band knows how to work that paradigm.
They are fresh off an East Coast run leading up to the band’s release of their second EP, Until the Winter Comes. You can stream the first song “Young Blood, Old Bones” below. Definite growth from the band’s first release, The Watchmen, is evidenced in just this first song. The song carries a familiarity that people that have listened to some of the folk greats will feel, although the band definitely has their own sound. What do you think?
