Happy Good Friday y’all. Despite the holiday weekend, there were still plenty of great releases that dropped today. The following piqued my interest. What are your favorites? What did we miss? What’s your favorite Easter Candy (mine are Robin’s Eggs, don’t @ me).

Scowl-Psychic Dance Routine

Scowl continue their journey into 90’s alternative, treading the line between Hardcore rhythms and screeches and melodic breaks in the vein of bands like Hole and L7. Scowl is coming off of a big year, having opened for the likes of Limp Bizkit (yes that band). And they show no signs of slowing down. Lesotho-Through the Dying Light

Post-metal band Lesotho have released their debut full length album Through The Dying Light. If you’re a fan of heavy guitars, layered instruments, and the opportunity to pensively and thoughtfully headbang, you might want to check them out. In the vein of Russian Circles, Pelican, and Caspian, Lesotho puts their own spin on a well-trod genre. Read our full review HERE. And stream Through The Dying Light HERE.

Milc x goldenbeets-Horseradish

Seattle rapper Milc joins with producer goldenbeets for eight new tracks on Horseradish. With titles like “Amber Rose Ecto Cooler,” “Skinemax,” and “M. Bison,” Milc has a penchant for catchy track titles. Having only been on the hip-hop scene since 2020, Milc’s flow gets better and more focused with each release. And after last year’s excellent Neutral Milk Motel, expectations for another fire album were not disappointed. Stream Horseradish HERE.

Single: Hotel of the Laughing Tree-“Ducks In The Flood”

Their newest single from their upcoming LP starts eschews the disco of “Mirror Up” for an 80’s inspired synth-laden pop track. This song is made for a montage scene in a coming-of-age movie.
