Track Premiere: Blanket Fort – Fulton County Jail Blues

We’re pleased to premiere “Fulton County Jail Blues,” the new single from Blanket Fort, the solo project of Brett Green, formerly of Mineral Girls and Group Text. The track finds a crisp drum beat carrying layers of spindly acoustics and bristling slide guitar as Green’s double-tracked voice offers an unhurried recounting of his time in jail and the distant plans for what he’ll do with his freedom.

The track, the first single from Blanket Fort’s upcoming album Rejoice, is a wonderful marriage of 90s lo-fi and slowcore with the songwriting character studies of Paul McCartney and Johnny Cash.

Rejoice is out March 10th through Friend Club Records.
