Philly-by-way-of-upstate-NY songwriter Taylor Kelly is an eclectic soul with a slant toward R&B and smooth, big band arrangements. Her latest single, “Let You Go”, is a fury of groovy bass, lively horns, and a certain looming dissonance that calls to mind Mariah Carey and similar artists from the 90s and 00s. The result is a sound that feels classic – though it’s not simply a play at marketing nostalgia.
