somebody else – life without you

Dark days are explored on this album by Somebody Else, and the act try to detach themselves from the clutches of regret, while increasing the grungy tones. The record does have elements of grunge and indie rock running throughout it, and it’s like the 90s all over again.

The choruses are big and bold, the rasp is engaging and the style the band possess is interesting too. The old days come to mind with this act, with those powerful guitar sequences creeping into the songs. It’s a great mixture, which shows the outfit in full effect.

And you’d think you were listening to a band that were stationed in the boom of grunge. Nirvana comes to mind, and Somebody Else, has those traits. They play confidently, pushing the genre to the front without pretension. Life Without You is also their statement of clarity, a LP that flourishes when the songs hit.

Dance With Fate offers a great connection. The band are losing the will and their minds are unfocused. The guitar generates a grunge tone and movement, and the rock sensibilities are rooted.

Patience begins in the same vein. Its bold chorus grows beyond the scale, and the rasping vocals increase the intensity, as the song progresses.

Chasing Intension blows away the competition as the chorus works on a high level. The band is angry, looking for a better outlook, even in the grey.

Somebody Else use their skills and show us their daring potential. Life Without You is a different animal, a record of tension and rage.
