Columbus’ new trio The Sports compose a kind of bedroom pop that sounds, quite literally, like it was composed and recorded in someone’s bedroom. The music is relatively quiet, yet full. Easygoing, yet assertive. And most of all, there’s a sort of coziness that settles in when you take part.

Singer/guitarist Cameron Carr (alongside violinist Kelsey and other guitarist/vocalist Brady) had this to say on trying to explain their track “With Love”:

We’re quirky. We write weird songs, we play weird instruments, and we look weird. We don’t really want to be another rock band and we hope that’s okay.
This is our first song so we don’t really know what people should think about it. I guess we just hope that people like all the strange things that we like about it.
There ya have it. If the above write up didn’t define The Sports succinctly enough for you, the below song ought to do just fine. Oh, and we are premiering it, so even if you have a good idea of what this band sounds like you should probably listen anyway. The band’s debut EP is out later this week, December 3rd.

P.S. The band one time played a house show with Oberhofer. So there’s that.
