Followers of Tuned Up will probably be familiar with A Decade Apart. But, in case you aren’t—let us fill you in. The post-hardcore quintet have spent the past couple of years gradually building a regional following and honing in on an aggressive yet accessible sound. They’ve even played the preshow to our own Steadfast Festival alongside The Forty (which features Tuned Up Podcast host Joe Leppanen), Raviner, and Church Camp (RIP).
They’ve also warmed up the stage for the likes of The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus (that was in front of a sellout crowd), Parkway Drive, Escape the Fate, and Like Moths to Flames. Their sound fits with both heavy radio rock and straight up metalcore. As the music video for “Impulse” will hopefully show you, they have a cross-demographic appeal. Younger listeners will find something new to release their angst to, and older listeners will feel nostalgia for hard rock from the early 2000s, albeit with a modern twist. Tuned Up is pleased to be hosting the premiere for the video, which you can view below:
“Impulse” is song based on self-reflection, and appears on the EP Premonitions Part 1, which released last year. A follow up is coming this summer.
A Decade Apart are playing their first ever official headlining show in Columbus, alongside an all star lineup of emerging bands that make up the “scene” part of Columbus. Pray For Sleep, Odd Promise, The Admiralty, and Cincinatti’s Glassworld round out the bill. It all goes down on April 5th at Big Room Bar, and details can be found here.
