Playing to Vapors has a new video out, for a song called Ghost Hunter.
This is one of the strongest efforts of a music video in recent memory, by any band that I can remember. The video is presented contemporarily and competitively, on a scale that seems intended for more than just our market (perhaps something that could resonate across the Atlantic). It’s a good sign that Playing to Vapors is playing the long game with the big picture in mind.
In the video, the band rocks out a bunch, lots of side profile shots of Luke Harris, full band shots sans Luke, and cuts to a guy chasing an elusive girl through the woods, who by videos end has disappeared mysteriously. There’s also a cool theme of reel to reel projector opening and closing the piece.
Luke Harris singing against a psychedelic rainbow and the band in white getting into it stand out as markedly professional representations of a band, cast upon the backdrop of a well recorded and well written song.
