New Book: ‘The Art of Darkness: The History of Goth’

John Robb, the founder of The Membranes and Louderthanwar, will release his new book, “The Art of Darkness: The History of Goth,” on March 24 through Louder Than War Books.

With a length of 680 pages, the book examines the roots of goth, covering the culture and history of the scene from its post-punk heyday to modern times. Robb’s latest work features interviews with various artists, such as Andrew Eldritch, Killing Joke, and Trent Reznor, and explores the music, style, and social conditions that gave rise to the culture. The book is also a first-hand account of legendary gigs and clubs that contributed to the scene’s development. Pre-order now for a signed copy of this definitive deep-dive into goth culture.
