Southern California pop-punk stalwarts Joyce Manor are announcing a collaboration with Smog City Brewing Co. in the band’s hometown of Torrance, CA. Together, the two are joining forces for a “super crisp and refreshing lager” aptly coined ‘40 oz. To Torrance.’
A play on words based on the title of Joyce Manor’s latest record ‘40 oz. To Fresno’ released this year, ‘40 oz. To Torrance’ is a German-style Helles that is technically challenging to make, yet comes across super approachable and easy to drink with a 4.8% alcohol content.
In celebration of the collaboration, the band also bartended a free release party held at Smog City’s main location on December 9th.
‘40 oz. To Torrance’ is available to pre-order starting at 10am on Thursday, December 8th and at all four taprooms starting on Friday, December 9th. It will also be available at select bars and retailers all over Southern California. You can also order four-packs to be shipped anywhere in California via Smog City’s website: www.smogcitybrewing.com
“It has been awesome to work with Joyce Manor on brewing a beer that is a representation of both Smog City & the band. The ‘40 oz. To Torrance’ is a beer that is challenging to make, but easy to enjoy, much like Joyce Manor’s music. You can analyze or geek out over it all you want, but you can also sit back, relax, and listen,” says Jonathan Porter, Owner/Brewmaster of Smog City Brewing Co.
The ‘40 oz. To Torrance’ beer will also be sold at bars and restaurants around the band’s headlining show at the Long Beach Arena on January 7, 2023.
