If we’re being honest, these pop jams will have everyone talking. [Single Reviews]

Two Door Cinema Club – “Talk”: After countless videos teasing new material across social media, Two Door Cinema Club is finally back! With their newest single, the Irish indie rock trio brings an infectious groove over a fun summery sound that epitomizes the term “dance rock.” If you’re not involuntarily moving your body to the beat of this funky chart topper, you’re doing it wrong. As for the song’s trippy accompanying visual, I felt like I was watching a four-minute-long Nike ad on TV, so I’m going to be slightly disappointed if I find out that the three-piece didn’t land some sort of endorsement from the multi-billion dollar shoe company for this.

PUBLIC – “Honest”: Speaking of “back,” our favorite boys from Cincinnati are back again with their own new single, and boy is it a bop. “Honest” is top notch from its musicality alone between the bassline that never stops moving, the tight drumwork throughout, and the smooth recurring guitar slide on the song’s chorus. The last of which provides just the right amount of dissonance to match things up perfectly with the track’s angsty—at points even frantic—lyrics.

flor – “slow motion”: On the new flor tune, there’s a sort of airy, almost water-like flow, which I love. Indeed, “slow motion” is undeniably a pop song, but it possesses just enough guitar to feel like a straight-ahead rocker at certain points. It’s no wonder this Los Angeles–based quartet is described as being at the crossroads of indie rock and synth pop.

A R I Z O N A – “Find Someone”: A R I Z O N A is another alternative act that can be tough to sonically pinpoint at times, and their newest single is no exception. Bouncy synths and an overwhelming electropop feel serve as the main sonic foundation for “Find Someone,” but the subtle guitars and frontman Zachary Charles’ powerful vocals give it just enough of a punch that it feels like a full-on rocker at certain points. Regardless, it’s the type of song that you’ll easily find yourself belting along to at the top of your lungs.
