The darkness rises, and it connects to the overall tone of this album, but these tracks are engaging as they are melancholic. From the start to the conclusion of this record by Ghost Atlas aka Jesse Cash, everything clicks musically, and his vocals quickly ascend and dissipate when they need to. Lyrically, he dazzles too, bringing in poetry that infuses sadness with a rush of contemplation. 

Dust Of The Human Shape carries a story so profound that you’d find it hard to shake off, though, why would you? It isn’t a meagre listen, or a one-dimensional singalong, it has bones and truth, and it doesn’t force open any needless cliches. Nothing has been put into this art that doesn’t match up, as every note and tone, every element has a place.  

There’s an emo tinge to this record, and that doesn’t flake away at any moment. The opening song Void Voyeur is a standout, exploring a hopeless dream. The vocal work startles, and the guitars solidly deliver.  

Seeker (Stretch The Night) opens with a piano segment, and the vocals describe hazy eyes, and a broken mind. It’s a bittersweet moment, as the music delivers as well as the poetic lyrics.  

Riding The Blindside begins as a subtle reminder of sad eyes. The chord progression is satisfying, and the vocals empower as the chorus bursts in, leaving a lasting impression. It’s a true standout and one that should be commended.  

Ghost Atlas delivers here on a high level, giving emo a change up, though the rock undertones still ring true.
