COBRA’S WEEK IN MUSIC [SINGLE REVIEWS]

Zonezero-“All In Your Head”: If you are a fan of 2000-2005 metal/alt-metal, bands like Static-X, Trust Co, Cold, and Spineshank, then you will love Zonezero. This is a band that I don’t know why hasn’t taken off yet but I expect them to. This song is like a time machine and I love it. I can put this song on and I’m instantly transported back to Valdosta, GA in the early 2000s on a Friday night on my balcony drinking PBR, smoking Parliament Lights and listening to any of the bands I mentioned above. This single makes me excited. 2020 will be the year that Zonezero becomes known. You heard it here first.

Sera Safe-“Livid Color”: Much like the band above, I am super excited for the future of this band. The talent here is off the charts. With a history in bands like Wait for the Day, Consequences, and GR&, the members know what they are doing and if this single is any indication, holy cow!!!!!  And the production is great. It doesn’t sound like a first single at all. It truly sounds like these guys have been a band for a while. Over the past week I have seen some of the comments people are making and it’s great. This is an act that I fully expect to make some noise in the Columbus metal scene very soon. Get used to seeing this name.

Marilyn Manson-“The End”: I may lose a few cool points here but I have never like The Doors. This cover however is outstanding. Marilyn Manson made this his own and I can’t stop listening to it.  I have been a Manson fan for the better part of my life. I really enjoy the music that he makes. The reason I mention this is because as much I enjoy his music, if he wanted to make a career out of being in a cover band, he could. Every single he has done, is amazing, but this might take the cake. This is classic Marilyn Manson and I don’t understand the backlash on the interwebs. Get with it folx!!!!! This song freaking bangs!!!!!

Kesha-“My Own Dance”: Yes I’m including A Kesha song with these singles. I’m loving the heck out of this track. It’s a return to the Kesha I fell in love with when I first heard “Blah Blah Blah”. It’s a constant repeat, one man dance party in my kitchen kind of song and I’m all about it. I hope this is what the rest of her new album sounds like. The world needs this Kesha at the moment, not the one we have had the past few years. I need to get crazy sometimes after a long day at work and Kesha is the only one that can provide the soundtrack.
