In your youth, you feel invincible and ready to take on what comes your way. The hangovers aren’t as ruthless, and love is magically entwined with desire, putting you through the rough motions of life. Your heart grows into a rapid, beating monster, and the world seems more joyous and the streets even captivating. Though, when you eventually grow up, your mind locks in more, and the planet doesn’t give you as much hope.  

Arcane Ghosts has delivered this EP that points out love in such a pivotal way, giving their thoughts on desire, too. This short collection of songs lifts the lid on the band’s lives, giving us an insight into broken lust and mental disorders. From the opening line, the act doesn’t hold back or sugarcoat anything. They look at the bigger picture with big riffs aplenty and lyrics which offer profound insights.  

Rollercoaster opens with this big riff and sturdy percussion. Lyrically, we’re taken into a bar of bleached floors and broken love. The chorus bursts with an intense, rousing sound. In The Blue offers a brilliant guitar line and bashful vocals, with those lyrics describing a fruitless summer. It’s another pessimistic drive into insanity.   

Paralyzed is another emotional track, blessing us with a bold chorus and eye-opening lyrics. Truth gets battered around here, and the dreams of the future become splintered.  

Arcane Ghosts show their worth on this EP. It’s a record that tells insightful stories too.
