Lately there’s been the trend of modernized and gritty fairy tales, Bone Cave Ballet sound like what that looks like.
The progressive rock group from Seattle’s new album, Will of the Waves, is being released November 5. The five track EP is a trip down the rabbit hole. They have a sound a mix of melancholy whimsy and edge. Flutes and female choruses contrast against sharp drum beats, electric guitar solos, and punctuated rhythm of their singer’s voice yet they all work together making a unique yet entrancing sound.
As the album the progresses, each song becomes develops its own journey into a heavy tone, causing every next song to be more serious. Every song has a sense of an edge that sharpens as they all go on. Listening to the whole album all the way through, you witness an intriguing cohesive evolution that I haven’t really seen with any other EP. I really recommend checking them out
