Album Premiere: Melodic Canvas-Discoloration

One of the best parts of writing is I discover new acts that way and I love it. Last week I got an email from a PR group asking If I would cover a band. I got as far as the EPK and I was in. After I listened to them I was really in. The band is called Melodic Canvas. They are a four-piece band from Michigan. If you are a fan of 90s alt-rock and shoegaze, then this is for you.

Based on the two singles, this is an album that fans of the mentioned genres will enjoy, “Image Noise” the first single, has a more rock base. It reminds me of the 90s, which I’m here for. They easily would have fit on a bill with Hum or Nirvana. The second single “Falling Out” has more of a shoegaze sound along with a post-punk feel. If it helps, I added it to my Friday night post-punk/goth playlist. I like that the two singles are opposites of one another, the first was rocky and loud, while this one is calm and soft. I am a fan.
