Track Premiere: LEWIS – Milkman

We’re pleased to premiere “Milkman,” the new single from Los Angeles indie band LEWIS. The track rides a jangling acoustic guitar strum with a punchy rhythm section and slinky lead guitar that evokes acts like Heroes-era Bowie, Pavement, and Ben Kweller.

LEWIS came together during the Pandemic, with Christopher Lewis of The Kinison uniting with drummer Sam West (Stavesacre), bassist Conner West (Conman Bolo), keyboardist Nathan Van Hala (Savior Machine), and lead guitarist Paul, best known for his work as an engineer with Deftones, Alice in Chains, Ghost, Slipknot, and more. The quintet whittled away at Lewis’ collection of 90-plus demos to create Growing Pains, their debut album. Fans of slacker rock, 90s alt rock, and dreamy lo-fi would do well to keep a watchful eye.

Growing Pains is out October 20 on Bandcamp.

This song rips! This album has a grip of silky, fuzzy, yet driving tunes. I feel like it has a strong personal and authentic vibe which is a nice antidote to the pop drivel often written by multiple teams of people to crank out cash instead of art. Lol, end rant.
