As December Falls – Join the Club

As December Falls sound refreshed and rejuvenated on this LP Join The Club, though their last two records have been executed with attitude and courage. This album particularly raises the volume and places this band onto a pedestal which ultimately pleases the faithful. These fans are diehards, backing the band like a crowd of believers, and this record only increases the excitement.

Join The Club embraces new techniques, and it doesn’t stick to bog standard pop punk dramatics, but actually rises above the norm, giving us a chance to see a band rip up the rule book. These gifted guitar players know how to construct riffs worthy of rallying the crowd to their party, too.

The artistry shown on this record is commendable, and the words used resonate as the band want us to feel their wrath, as they’re not only trying to give us a sound to remember but they’re wanting us to know they’re sticking around for the long haul. Yes, some may think that Join The Club is a sickly sweet album full of hyperbolic lyrics and done to death riffs. It actually isn’t, it’s a complete record, brimming in hooks and desire, composure and energy.

Track 1 Join The Club is a shuddering opening, angry and energetic. The vocals come in like a racing train, and the riffs please. Sadness is explored, and a feeling of mis-justice cuts in. Mayday opens with a great riff and the song demands the attention even from the most casual listener. That chorus bursts in, and the band feels jaded, though the song offers courageousness.

I Can’t Sleep offers a slower tempo, a stab of composure. The band here shows their talents on a larger scale, and they’re deeply angry, pushing for a revolution.

As December Falls know, they have what it takes to rise even further. Join The Club is another well rounded album to add to the catalogue.
