As Everything Unfolds demand, your attention with an album that doesn’t just focus on technicalities, but the lyrics are significant in their themes and execution. The English quintet is also on the rise and has become a staple in a scene, a metal scene, which has many bands looking for the crown. Ultraviolet is their album of belief when everything seems to be unravelling around them, and the band utilise their talents well here.
Breaking into the music industry takes grit and strength, and As Everything Unfolds, has done so with eagerness and perseverance. Propelling beyond the underground takes even more resoluteness, and a determination which is strong, but this act has shown their credibility through thick and thin.
Musically adept, the band play through the unwanted noise and add their own slant, using guitars as a bed of sound, and breaking through with melodies aplenty. This sound isn’t immaculate by any stretch of the imagination either, as they are dark foundations.
There are 11 songs on this LP. Felt Like Home is a clear standout, soaring in, as the chorus infectiously drills in its significance. Those brooding vocals increase the quality of a track that lights this album up. Saint Or Rogue blends in well, and the song depicts broken memories and intoxication. Again, the chorus is fundamental, as well as those empowering screams.
Twilight shows the band’s loud side, a raucousness that is sublime. The vocals meld in with the blistering instrumentals, and the song highlights the band’s signature sound and lyrical dexterity.
As Everything Unfolds show their qualities through true stories and they’re quickly becoming a force in a cut-throat scene.
