the violent – bitter end

With trusty chords and ambition, The Violent preaches for optimism on their record Bitter End, but they feel broken and disengaged from the world, the planet that is seeing big changes, and not for the good. This EP offers a sound for the people often shifted aside, the people clawing through the blood and ashes to find a glint of hope.

Melody emerges triumphant here, and with those powerful instrumentals comes dark lyricism, words that shake things up, and profoundly twist perceptions, and The Violent knows they’ve struck with authority on this release, pushing their sneers to the forefront of rage.

Bitter End has 4 songs, and they all merge together, creating a story of rationality, even though the world is in sheer panic. Bitter End starts the record with pounding percussion and loud vocals, and the lyrics tell us that loneliness and isolation are on the rise. The chorus is infectious.

I’ll Be Waiting opens with empowering vocals and bourgeoning riffs. The chorus again is fundamental, and the lyrics convey hopelessness and derailed love. A soul wanders through the smoke.

Wrap Your Head Around is fast-paced, and the vocals are softer than normal, until the song rages on. The lyrics here describe foolishness and impending doom. Those riffs are ferociously engaging.

Counting Sheep starts with quick vocal work, and the chorus sparks fury, biting deeply into the atmosphere. Anxiety and despondency click together, and the track spills all.

The Violent is a band offering a sound which may aid the disenfranchised in their moment of need.
