Halestorm rallies home feelings of discontent with their record Back From The Dead. The band, open up here, searching for solace in a twisted world, and their music is a statement, a letter to the disenfranchised. Lead singer/guitarist Lzzy Hale sounds ready for the fight, and this rock outfit is ready for the storm. Back From The Dead will rouse the crowds back into action, and the LP not only sounds daring and fresh, it actually invigorates.
Halestorm has become a staple in the music world. This is their 5th LP, and it isn’t a full departure from what they’ve done before, but it is still epic and grandiose, perfected by talented musicians. Hale creates big moments with her commanding voice, and she plays her guitar like a monster in human clothes. Her range becomes admirable, revitalising the rock scene as she sings, and Back From The Dead rails against the grain, empowering in its delivery, but all so revealing.
The guitar moments are gracious. This band can play hard, and they can write with eloquence, perfecting every line as they go. The lyrical content explains so much, and it conveys anger and rage, and at times, broken memories. Hale sings these lyrics like she’s possessed, and she doesn’t stand and becomes frozen to the spot. She expels all nervous notions, and lets the words flow.
There are 11 songs on this LP. Wicked Ways is a angry track, with pounding instrumentals, and lyrical bite. Hale sings, biting down on the world. Her voice is commanding, and she doesn’t want to be called an angel. Brightside opens loudly, and Hale naturally rises to the summit, singing and screaming, playing her instrument diligently. My Redemption creates tension, and Hale sings yet again about being lost. She craves to be released. That guitar riff breaks ground.
Halestorm pepper the world with their style of rock. Back From The Dead commands to be listened to.
