A few months ago I came across Boyhood Bravery and their single “Nests,” and I enjoyed it so much that I felt compelled to include it in April’s installment of my monthly column. Now the indie folk collective is back with an equally somber new tune in “Railroads,” which we are premiering a day before it releases, right here on the blog.
This time around the Indianapolis natives take on a simpler approach, albeit without compromising in quality. There’s an undeniable beauty that can be found here, one that makes the vocal performances in particular shine through on “Railroads.” These chilling harmonies between co-vocalists Luke Livingston and Laekin Allen do an incredible job of complementing what the quintet is already doing musically. The poignant mood brought forth by Livingston’s lyrics are simply the final piece to this melancholic musical puzzle, one sure to stick with listeners both old and new.
“Railroads” is available now to stream and download on all major platforms, and don’t forget to follow Boyhood Bravery on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to stay up to date on all of their upcoming developments. Who knows? Maybe more new music is on the way…
