Single review: Eleventh Hour Onset brings the heat with “The White Chapter”

By Ryan G

Allow me to introduce you to a young band called Eleventh Hour Onset from Racine, WI. This is a town that I once drove to with some friends in college, simply because they have a Chick-Fil-A in their mall. At the time, our Chicago suburb of Wheaton didn’t have the prized fast food chain, so we had to drive an hour and half to the closest location. Which happened to be Racine.

So, my question for you is how far will you go to find good music? I would reckon pretty far, since you’re reading this blog, which definitely isn’t mainstream.

So who are Eleventh Hour Onset? Well, besides sharing a hometown with a legendary Chick-Fil-A, they craft some tasty metalcore inspired by a lot of the modern classics – August Burns Red, As Blood Runs Black, The Devil Wears Prada, Miss May I – you know, the usual suspects.

What’s awesome is that “The White Chapter” forms a very compelling argument for why this band has potential to really become something awesome. I’ve heard hundreds of songs with this formula, but this one just feels right for some reason. The breakdown isn’t forced. The guitar-work is on point. The vocals aren’t overproduced, yet the music still has that trademark clarity that much of present day metalcore seems to have.

Why don’t you stream the video for the new song yourself and let us know what you think?
