These Bad Basslines Will Drive You Wild [Single Reviews]

Adam Saxe – “Bad Soul”: We may have missed him in our Tennessee “bands to watch” feature, but now that we are talking about Adam Saxe, it might be a good idea for you to give his new tune a spin or two. But just be warned: once you press play on “Bad Soul,” you may not be able to stop. Musically “Bad Soul” is an upbeat electro-funk banger, making for a fantastic counterpart to Saxe’s smooth R&B vocal licks. Look out Top 40 – you may have just been graced with your next hit.

The Wldlfe – “Text Me?”: Though primarily popular in the ‘80s, spacey-sounding synths have been making quite the comeback as of late, and this couldn’t be any more evident on the new single from The Wldlfe. With “Text Me?” the Indiana-based quartet brings the head-bobbing groove, whether it’s coming from the infectious low end throughout or the nasty saxophone during the latter half of the song.

Welshly Arms – “Bad Blood”: The latest single from Welshly Arms is rock ‘n’ roll at its finest. Held together by a thunderous bass riff, “Bad Blood” is a shuffled stomper with vicious blues roots. It’s a song that is meant to be played in front of an audience, so naturally it’s no surprise that “Bad Blood” sounds even better live.
