If you have ever read any of my pieces then you know how much I love music. Hence why I started writing for Tuned Up. It gives me a chance to talk about bands that I enjoy and over the past 3 and half years I have done just that. Almost every article I have written be it an album review, a concert review or an interview is a band that I feel deserves the exposure. Absolute Hero is one of those bands.
I don’t like to play the race card or the gender card but right now I feel I have to. It is no unknown secret that easy-core/pop-punk is a boys club. That’s one of the first things a lot of people point out when talking about the genres, the lack of females. Well, this is one band that can make a dent in that. Absolute Hero has been a band for a little over a year and in that short time they have become one of the hardest working bands in our scene. A band that is looking to break out of the scene. One of the things I admire about this band is their singer, Sarah Nichole, A woman on fire, the aspirations she has for her and her merry band are those that dreams are made of. In the past year, Absolute Hero has shared the stage with the likes of Get Stoked!, Major League, Forever Came Calling, Boymeetsworld, Marina City and even I Set My Friends On Fire. And that list is going to continue to grow. Especially with the release of Sing for Sanity their debut album that will be released sometime in the fall. But until then here is their new single, “These Tables Turn”. Enjoy. See you in pits or in the back. 🙂
