As one that is not from Columbus there are certain things that over my five years here have become the things that I associate with the city. Most or all them are music related. Be it Teen Fiction, ComFest, The Castros, Attack Attack, Two Cow Garage and To Kill a Monster. The last one has a special place in heart. As a few months back they headlined the first show I booked on my own. And that was a night to remember.
May 13th, 2016 was a night that will be remembered by many. Not only was it the show booked by yours truly but many other awesome things went down. Friendships were forged. Old friends were reunited. But above all these things, it was To Kill a Monster’s comeback show. The local veteran band of over 10 years who had become a staple in the alternative/pop-punk scene had not played a show in almost a year. After some members left and new ones came into the fold, they decided to play a show. And Tuned Up was more than happy to be the ones to help bring them back. This is a band that has played MSM Fest, Warped tour and other festivals, so they were missed in their time away.
So it only makes sense that we also debut their new single. If you are new to this band, right now is a good time to jump on the bandwagon. This single finds them maybe going in a new direction but still staying true to their roots. This is a band that is ready to take the world by storm. And they are going to do it day by day. Oh and there will probably be confetti involved.
