Jon Atwell didn’t always fancy himself a songwriter. Though in somewhat of a musical family (his sister Bethany holds a music degree from the Wheaton College Conservatory of Music) he didn’t always fancy himself a singer. After releasing an EP in 2013 and a single later on, he finds himself at a point in time where things are coming together in a new, fresh way.

“Black Cat” shows remarkable growth from “Snap. Snap. Clap. Clap” to now. The song is unabashedly pop with a bit of a throwback feel with a straightforward yet infectious chord progression in the guitar.

When I say infectious, I mean it. The mix of class and quirk makes for a memorable song. Jon Atwell is back, polished, coming into his own, and wants you to get your groove on. Download the song here.
