We at Tuned Up just love premiering songs. Here’s another one.

Meet TART.

TART is a duo, in short, from the Detroit area. Early in our existence, we got the chance to photograph and review a band called The Hounds Below, founded by Jason Stollsteimer from the Von Bondies. When The Hounds Below came to an end, two projects arose from its ashes. First, Stollsteimers new project PONYSHOW. Second, is an alternative electronic duo with The Hounds Below bassist Adam Padden at the helm.

We’ve all know that bands with this sound are a dime a dozen these days. But TART’s debut track, titled “Rabid Dogs,” is dang catchy. Plus, POPMATTERS had this to say about the band:

“Mixing the grime with the glam is the stock and trade of Detroit duo TART.

Pulling from Blondie-style New Wave and the Kills’ brand of minimalistic blues-punk, TART casts a bewitching brew of sounds. Both visually and audibly, Zee Bricker vamps it up in a range of vocal tones while guitarist Adam Michael Lee Padden goes wild with the riffing.” – Cole Waterman

Do you agree? I’m curious to see where this new musical endeavor progresses…

You’ll be able to catch the band doing spot tour dates here and there in the immediate future. Down the road… who knows! But we are optimistic.
