Riviera is a four piece rock band from Morgantown, WV that is starting to pick up momentum, as they have already conquered their hometown and that region. It’s only a matter of time before others know the name Riviera. Sophomore Slump Fest is just another stepping stone on their way to the top.
This has been a really solid year for these guys. They put out a stellar ep, A New Place Like Home. They have gone on a few tours with other up and coming bands. They even played the Pittsburgh date of Warped Tour a few weeks ago. And looking at their Facebook page, they show no signs of slowing down. So if you are a fan New Found Glory, A Loss for Words, and Hit The Lights I would recommend checking them out.
TUNED UP: DESCRIBE YOUR BAND IN FIVE WORDS
Riviera: Powerful, energetic, emotional, fast, and hopeful
TUNED UP: WHO ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING AT SOPHOMORE SLUMP FEST?
Riviera: Definitely Broadside, they’re one of the few acts on the fest that every single member of the band listens to regularly.
TUNED UP: IF ANY BAND THAT NO LONGER EXISTS COULD HEADLINE A SHOW YOU PLAY, WHO WOULD IT BE?
Riviera: My Chemical Romance. It would be such an honor to open for a band who has so heavily influenced our sound and changed the world so much.
TUNED UP: WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SUMMER ACTIVITY?
Riviera: Going to the beach probably. Sun, booze, and babes, what’s not to love?
TUNED UP: WHAT SUMMER BLOCKBUSTER ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO?
Riviera: Probably Guardians of the Galaxy 2
TUNED UP: WHAT IS YOUR ALL-TIME FAVORITE SUMMER JAM?
Riviera: The Ataris-“Boys of Summer”, mostly now because when we played Warped this year we checked out their set after ours and it was sick.
TUNED UP: WHAT IS A BAND FROM YOUR AREA DO PEOPLE NEED TO HEAR?
Riviera: We have some friends in a band called Statesides who are killing it right now. They kind of remind us of Knuckle Puck.
TUNED UP: WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE FAIR/FESTIVAL FOOD?
Riviera: Funnel Cake
TUNED UP: SWEET TEA OR LEMONADE?
Riviera: Arnold Palmer. We like to think outside the box and knowing us it would be spiked with something too.
