Safe, So Simple-I will start this by saying Safe, So Simple are one of those bands I knew of for a while before I actually listened to them. I do this for many reasons and every once in a while it turns out to be a mistake. In this case that seems to be the case. The first time I listened to Safe, So simple I was hooked. They have a very infectious sound that can not only take this pop-punk/easycore unit far in their scene but actually breakout out of it.  I really expect big things from this band. They also just happen to be playing the Phoenix, AZ date of Warped Tour.

Friday Night Lites– This 5 piece pop punk band from Portland, Maine are slowly making a name for themselves. And it may have something to do with their live show. I happened to have caught them with Save the Lost Boys and Abandoned by Bears a few weeks back and they were sensational. I have a feeling they have been stealing the how every night.  Joey Genovese is one of the best front men in the genre I’ve seen in a long time. His energy is contagious and I love it. They already have conquered the Northeast, it’s only a matter of time before the rest of us catch on. Oh one more thing, they do a killer cover of “Wannabe”, yes that Wannabe, The Spice Girls.

Safe to Say– One of my favorite things about Warped Tour is discovering new bands. This year that band is Safe to Say. One the way to the show, my Buddy Ryan mentioned to me the one band besides the ones I wanted to see that I should see was a band called Safe to Say. Ryan knows what I dig. Sure enough later that day I was blown away by them.  One of the top 3 sets I saw that day. As much as I love warped and pop punk, it is nice seeing bands that not. Safe to Say has a melodic post-hardcore/alternative sound that is easily contagious. I look forward to watching this band grow in the years to come.  I would suggest if you are a fan of A Will Away, Later Brand New, Bonfires and Life Lessons go give them a listen. They have a new record out today on SideOneDummy Records.
