Premiere: Chad Lehr is here to tell us about “Grace”
Chad Lehr is an Indiana name I’ve heard bounced around Midwest indie music circles for a little over a year now. He first came up when we were booking the inaugural Steadfast Festival, and actually again when we were booking for this year. He has become respected in the Indiana music scene, and he wears several hats in the industry.
Chad’s sound is a pensive, Americana influenced indie vibe. He isn’t afraid to talk about hard subjects, and he also approaches the familiar with a distinct down to earth demeanor. I expect many in both country and indie rock spheres to enjoy Chad.
“Grace” chronologically follows another single, “Concentration, Not Strength,” which presents a narrative in the music video similar to the Parable of the Prodigal Son, in some ways. The subject of that video’s storyline seems to be an archetype of sorts – many folks could put themselves in his shoes. In the follow up music video for “Grace,” the subject explores the awkward and sometimes difficult process of romantic pursuit, and Chad inserts himself into that storyline. What do you think this video is telling us? Let us know.
Chad Lehr’s record “Songs About Birds” is out now and you can find it here.
