Danish Indie-Pop-rock band New Politics recently head-lined a sold out show at the Newport Music Hall on February 5. The show opened with Sleeper Agent, an energetic rock band from Bowling Green, Kentucky, Their front-woman, Alex Kandel, was a non-stop dancing machine while flipping her fire-colored hair constantly around on stage. Magic Man was the second band to perform that night, putting on an incredible show. They’re been known for their eye-catching band name and their recently released remix of New Politics, “Harlem”. Almost the entire sold out crowd was singing along to their final song for the night, “Paris” leaving a melodic and vibrant mood within the venue. The final act of the night was New Politics, touring on their very first headlining tour. While they were here not too long ago opening up for 30 Seconds To Mars, performing with acts such as Pink and Fall Out Boy has definitely given them the time to perfect their stage performance. While the 3 man group had the whole stage to themselves, they left no inch of it unexplored, jumping and dancing around like no band I’ve seen before. If the band doesn’t seem to take over the radio soon with their catchy songs, I think front man David Boyd would have no trouble getting on a tour as a professional break dancer.
New politics is a great band with a lot of different ideas…
