The Billboard Hot 100, arguably the main music industry benchmark for the overall success of a music single, is finally factoring music streaming and subscriptions into its calculations – per this article on Hypebot. A bit late, perhaps, but its a sign of the times that this entity seems to finally be on board. A full list of added services (from the article) includes:
- Spotify
- Rhapsody (author’s note: people still use this? why didn’t Billboard add this five years ago when it first became popular?)
- Rdio
- Slacker
- Cricket’s Murve Music
- MOG
Good list, just missing Pandora and iHeartRadio.
